Tips to Boost Your Productivity
Here are some tips I use daily:
1. Catch the negative words you associate with your tasks or goals
Do you remember a time you made yourself a to-do list or when you sat down and started working, what words do you say to yourself? Is it “gosh, this is hard,” “I do not want to do it,” or “this is draining me.”? Now, I want you to flip these negative words to “This might be a challenge, but I will tackle it.” “I choose to do it because I have a goal.” When you choose to say good things, your emotions become positive, and your behaviour catches up with your thinking and emotions.
2. Spend 1 min visualizing your desired outcome
Before you begin your work, spend 1 to 2 min visualizing your desired outcome. This can be the success of finishing the task, receiving compliments, and achieving your long-term goal. How will you feel if you achieve the goal, do you feel happy, excited, accomplished, or proud? Close your eyes, see your success and feel your success.
3. Keep saying good things about your work
Whether you are writing, solving a problem or working out, you might feel bored or tired or even defeated. But I want you to remember complimenting on yourself and your work. “You have done a great job, this work is amazing.” Even if you believe your work sucks, if you keep thinking your work sucks, it sucks even more. Trust me on this one, I have plenty of experience.
4. Reward yourself for small progress
I know this is not a “subconscious belief” tip, but it helps. I now have a small cup of cherry tomato on the far end side of my table, this is going to be my reward once I finish writing this blog. I will tell myself, you did great, and this cup of cherry tomato is for you, it’s good for your skin, your gut and your overall bodily function. See the power of words? I do not need to spend much and my reward is so much more exciting, rewarding and healthy at the same time.
5. Try hypnotherapy.
You know this one is on the list. Hypnotherapy is something that I have benefited from and I am now a proud advocate of it. Hypnotherapy uncovers the subconscious beliefs that run your unwanted behaviours. It reprograms and updates your outdated beliefs and mindsets with healthier ones. Once you are filled with positive beliefs, no traumas, challenges, or difficulties can hold you back.
